Konsep Pendidikan Parenting : Berdasarkan At-Tahrim Ayat 6

Abstrak

Parenting education is a fundamental foundation in shaping a child’s character and morals from the earliest stages of life. Amid the growing challenges of parenting in the modern era marked by technological developments and shifting social values the Qur’an provides essential guidance regarding the responsibilities of parents in nurturing the family. This study aims to examine the concept of parenting education based on Surah At-Tahrim verse 6 as a normative reference for the development of Muslim families. This research employs a library research method with a thematic tafsir approach, involving analysis of various classical and contemporary tafsir works as well as literature related to family education. The findings indicate that At-Tahrim verse 6 affirms the obligation of parents to protect themselves and their families from moral and theological deviation through comprehensive education. The parenting concepts contained in the verse include spiritual development, inculcation of moral values, exemplary conduct, behavioral supervision, effective communication, and the application of proportional discipline. The verse also highlights the synergy between the roles of the father and the mother as primary leaders and educators within the family. Thus, At-Tahrim verse 6 provides a relevant conceptual framework for modern parenting practices oriented toward building families that are faithful, well-characterized, and morally upright.
