Author Guidelines

LUXFIA: Journal of Islamic Education and Thought

1. Article Title

  • Use capital letters.
  • Font: Cambria, size 14 pt, centered.
  • Language: English.
  • Maximum: 15 words.

2. Author Identity

  • Written below the title:
    • Author’s Name (without academic titles) with superscript numbers if more than one author.
    • Institutional Affiliation of each author.
    • Email address of all authors (in one line).
  • Font: Cambria 12 pt, single spacing.

3. Abstract

  • Written in two languages: English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Length: 200–250 words, in one paragraph.
  • Content should include:
    • Background
    • Research Method
    • Main Findings
    • Conclusion
  • Font: Cambria 10 pt, spacing 1.0.

Keywords:

  • Number: 3–5 words
  • Font: Cambria 10 pt
  • Use italic for English keywords if necessary.

4. Article Structure

a. Introduction

  • Font: Cambria 12 pt, spacing 1.5.
  • Length: approx. 600–700 words.
  • Must include:
    • Academic background
    • Research problem statement
    • Significance and scholarly positioning
  • Must focus on contemporary Islamic education and thought.
  • Include recent and relevant literature (avoid generalization).

Example of in-text citation:

In contemporary literature, the discourse on integrating education with Islamic values has become increasingly important as a response to the challenges of modernity (Ahmad 2022, 45).

b. Research Method

  • Description of approach, design, data sources, data collection and analysis techniques.
  • Should be concise, clear, and straightforward.

c. Results and Discussion

  • Present research findings and scholarly discussion.
  • Subheadings, tables, and figures are allowed.
  • Should include:
    • Critical analysis
    • Comparison with previous research
    • Clear statement of scholarly contribution

d. Conclusion

  • Answer the research problem statement.
  • Provide narrative implications of the findings (not bullet points).
  • Must contain a clear and strong closing idea.

5. References

  • Font: Cambria 12 pt, spacing 1.5.
  • At least 80% of references must come from the last 5 years.
  • Use Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (full note).
  • Reference management should use Zotero or Mendeley.
